Hi, I’m Andrew and welcome to Mind Body Health Solutions. I have been working for over 20yrs with people from different backgrounds in different settings with the sole purpose of embracing my positive nature to connect with each individual and help them with what ever is holding them back from the life they want.
Helping others is at the core of who we are.
Mind Body Health Solutions is my new venture enabling me to follow this purpose and help individuals achieve their goals and become the person they want to be. Here is a bit of an overview of how and why I started Mind Body Health Solutions, so have a read and feel free to get in contact to discuss what we do or how we can help.
I started out as a high school teacher before making a change to work in human services where I have worked alongside people with a disability, children and young people, people suffering from mental illness and refugee and asylum seekers. I have more recently returned to teaching in alternate education working with disadvantaged and disengaged young people. Through this work I have witnessed the challenges people face on a daily basis through their external circumstances and internal struggles and the impact this has on their psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. I have learnt from so many amazing people who have shown resilience in striving to reach their potential and achieve their goals in the face of some pretty challenging circumstances and often with limited understanding of the obstacles in their way.
Over this time, I observed and collaborated with many committed professionals all working to help people address their challenges through a range of strategies and approaches from their various disciplines. However, I also found that these strategies and approaches often had limitations on what they could achieve. While many people were able to utilise these strategies to overcome the odds many more people continued to struggle to find their way even with the supports of the professionals and services around them.
This really sparked my curiosity about how some people have managed to accept and grown stronger from their personal challenges and circumstances while others struggle to find themselves and recapture their lives to follow their dreams. What made the difference? Do some people have something that others don’t? or does something lie within us all, waiting to be unlocked, if only we knew how?
These questions sent me on a personal journey to discover other ways of working with people that connects to their heart, mind and body and allows them to understand what’s really going on by tapping into their subconscious and innate ability to restore their health and wellebing. I discovered that not only are we all exposed to different opportunities, hardships and circumstances, we also interpret these experiences differently, resulting in varying ways of thinking, feeling and acting which ultimately shapes our personal reality.
The more I investigated this, the more I was drawn to wholistic approaches that engaged the mind and body together, enabling us to unpack our personal interpretations of our lived experiences to understand how they drive us in this moment.
I have now completed a diploma in Kinesiology, a mind body approach which utilises muscle monitoring to obtain information from our nervous system to shed light on what’s going on behind any presenting physical, psychological or emotional issues. Kinesiology utilises the latest understanding of neuroscience as well as the ancient techniques of traditional Chinese medicine used to transform the way we relate to ourselves and the world around us. It views our concerns as openings in our awareness where new possibilities can emerge to bring us back into a state of balance. It’s about providing you with the right information from your mind and body, empowering you to make changes that work specifically for you.
